Untitled (Foil and Strainers)
Aluminum foil, strainers, and projection

This installation creates an environment in which the audience can interact with and become apart of that accentuates and explores the materiality of both aluminum foil and the small metal strainers present. On the pedestal in the foreground is an arrangement of both foil and strainers, which mimics and recreates the projection cast over it, through a photograph of a previous arrangement o the same foil and strainers. The physical arrangement extends partially down the pedestal, as does the projection on top of it, in the effort to blur the lines between projection and physical recreation. There is also foil placed strategically in front of the lens of the projector in order to organically shape the edges of the projection and further exercise the form of the foil. The light and reflection from the projection onto the foil and strainers emphasizes its metallic qualities.
